The Ryle Lady Raiders J.V. and Varsity teams made there way to Maysville, Kentucky today in order to compete in the Mason County High School Girls Invitational.  While the event proved to be a full day event for Coach Thornton he was overjoyed watching almost all of his players competing on behalf of his program and Ryle High School.

The J.V. event kicked things off in the morning and the J.V. Lady Raiders were ready to play after a few minor issues finding the exact location of the course.  As a team the J.V. squad shot a team total of 273.  They were led by 7th grader Lindsey Jackson whom shot a total of 60.  Other players competing that day were Sydney Dunigan, Madisoin Kelckner, Chloe Ruark, and Cora Bradford.  This was the first taste of action for the J.V. player this season and each player and Coach Thornton expect a lot of improvement over the course of the season.  The J.V. team plays their next match agaisnt Simon Kenton this Tuesday at Kenton County Golf Course at 3 p.m.

Later in the afternoon the Lady Raider Varsity team competed in their tournament.  The Lady Raiders finished 5th out of 14 teams competing with a team total of 369.  Sophomore Nadine Innes won individual medalist of the entire tournament shooting an outstanding round of 1 over par 73 leading her to a 5 shoot victory over the defending 6th region champion from Grant County.  Senior Morgan Clark added a score of 89 which tied her for 9th place in the tournament.  Mollie Collins shot 99, Kayley Hughes shot a 108, and Morgan Adams shot a 112 to complete the team scoring.  The Varsity Lady Raiders next compete in a match against Holy Cross on Monday 8/6 at Kenton County Golf Course at 3 p.m.
